Aiding the Suffering of Haiti
Supporting basic human needs.
Abigael Relief Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation that provides direct relief to suffering families in Haiti.
Our mission at Abigael Relief Foundation is to assist families with food, shelter, and other basic needs, with the goal of getting them on their feet so that they can then help others in their community.
The financial assistance that we provide goes directly to families, to allow them to acquire necessary food, medicine, housing, and education for their children.
In the Village of Cold River Haiti
The current turmoil in Haiti has resulted in an acute need for assistance. The gang violence in the streets causes daily fear, especially for those with children. Many individuals are choosing to leave their homes and what little they own to relocate to areas where there currently are no gangs. Our friend Jeff shared, “Under the bed we hide, only if I need something for my daughter to eat do I get up and do it. If I had the means I would leave the area to live in a better place because my child is very scared when they shoot.”
Jeff and his 7 year old daughter reach out for the comfort to know that they are not alone even though they feel isolated. And in addition they ask for a small gift to be able to purchase food for themselves.
“The works of mercy are charitable actions by which we come to the aid of our neighbor in his spiritual and bodily necessities… The corporal works of mercy consist especially in feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and imprisoned, and burying the dead.”
